Good morning from a damp, but beautiful Scotland. A windy and buffetty night, the sound of swaying trees, creaking branches and pouring rain were my lullaby song. Awoken to the customary crow chorus and continuous rain, I think non stop now for about 12 hours plus. It is my early morning greeting pattering on the roof, walks and windows. Sun yet to rise as I sit in darkness gazing out, the outline of forest and hill come into focus, with the slow emerging light. The birdsong increases in line with the growing early morning light. Robins now join the cries of chorus as well as others. The sky defined by the rain, is heavy and grey, the light likewise.
A few days of landing and coming together, the start of another journey of becoming community, with people gathered from nine different countries working with the drum through out the world, to hopefully make a difference. It’s interesting that rain promotes growth, grass grows, flowers bloom, crops ripen, it sustains life, here we are learning to grow ourselves ( I will own that, I certainly have ), promote growth in others and grow community, whilst for now surrounded by nourishing rain. Nourishment appears to be the word of the day. The nourishment of the planet, self and others. Lovely days people.
For my dear friend Nadja Gunneberg and all the women I am lucky enough to know.
“ Women are the nourishing power of the Universe. Whoever has deep respect for women of the world, will remain free from diseases.” Amit Ray.
