Vunerability.

A windswept and blustery campervan morning this morning. The winds continue to blow, but not to the extent of the early hours. The music of the morning is whispered conversations, the swish of branch, and the bending of bough. Crow calls permeate the gaps in the breeze. The light yet to take hold, so darkness holds its ground, though shapes are appearing and cloud cover appears solid and heavy, though it’s not raining. Autumn is slowly raising its head and we are well into October. Debris blown by the breeze, leaves, twigs and grass are scattered everywhere. It’s been an interesting few days of uncovering and testing of self and vulnerabilities. Those that read these offering and musings of a morning will know of my love of nature, books and particular authors. This morning I was once again drawn to John O’Donohue and opened his book ‘Eternal Echoes ‘ at a random page and he talks of vulnerability being the road to change and truth. He continues ;

“ We should not see our vulnerability as something that we need to hide or get over. The slow and difficult work of living our vulnerability holds you in the flow of life “.

As random as this page first appeared it clearly wasn’t and fitted beautifully with the morning and as a clarion call to embrace my vulnerabilities and step into the flow of life, rather than remain on the bank and watch the water flow past. So here’s to mine and your vulnerability. Lovely days people.

“…and that visibility which makes us most vulnerable is that which also is the source of our greatest strength.” Audre Lorde.
