Time and Patience.

A bright blue sky above me with numerous criss crossing contrails. Some thinning, others thick and fresh. What little cloud there is high almost non existent cirrus in nature moving slowly eastwards. Green parrot screech’s and a few Crow calls around me. A squirrel leaping from the Ash to the Oak and moving around the upper branches looking for food. No Robins that I can discern, a few songs that I do not recognise. A Gull can be heard in the distance as well as the usual suburban cockerel. The sun just clipping the very top of the crown of the Oak and Ash. Morning has well and truly broken. The air is quite fresh, not as cool as it has been. Traffic close and far making themselves known. Saturday is upon us and the wheel keeps turning. A day of drumming ahead, the final few groups before winter trainings start, so a few moments of reflection before the day gets under way. If it wasn’t for the cool mornings, you would say autumn has been stopped in its tracks. There is however the slightest breeze with a hint of cold on it, just to remind you that the year is ticking away. Stepping away and breathing in cool air and watching the morning manifest is always a privilege and one I am glad I make time for when I can. Tolstoy wrote ;

“ The strongest of all warriors are these two - Time and Patience “.

This morning is always a practice in both, though often quite short some days and longer on others. Lots of thoughts this morning of nothing particular and as I said drumming ahead. So nothing huge to report just a lovely morning, a check in with the world, nature and my world before the start of the day. Lovely days people.

“ Books have a unique way of stopping time in a particular moment and saying: Let’s not forget this.” Dave Eggers.
