Take A Breath.

Well it still remains for me unseasonably warm and this campervan morning feels warmer than the last few. A big heavy blanket of thick cloud stationary above my head, the light is heavy, grey and dark. Trees ruffled by a slight, but consistent breeze, bring a shimmering sound to the morning. The first blackbird for a while in the Oak as well as some Robin song and far off Crow. Three Gulls wheel and turn in the breeze high in the sky, calling their progress, fading as they travel. The prominent sound is the welcome natural ruffling of leaves. Another self care Sunday is upon us and nature is already doing its work. A sense of early morning suburban serenity, before people start to rise. The Canadian singer Hawksley Workman ( Check out his work ) writes of Sunday that ;

“ The city takes a breath on Sunday. Of all that’s lost with the pursuit of what’s next, I hope we don’t lose that “.

And so it is, take a breath day. Reflecting on yesterdays drum circle and connection, community, spirit, fun and laughter. What struck me was the generosity of people. The generosity in sharing their music, their desire to help and of course to share themselves. It is always a life affirming experience to be with such people and see the real face of humanity, generous in action , generous in nature and generous in spirit. The author Sarah Winman writes ;

“ No single act of generosity remains in isolation. The ripples are many.”

And I could see it feel it and hear it spread yesterday within the circle and afterwards. Restores your faith. So this morning I sit in nature, feeling full and inspired. And so it is self care Sunday, so please make sure you do something for yourself today. Lovely days people.

“ Err on the side of generosity. Not because you want something in return. Banking on reciprocity is a recipe for manipulation. Be generous because you’re human and you care.” Richie Norton.
