Sharing.

Birds basking in sunshine in the very tops of the Oak and Ash this campervan morning. A large Robin sits on one of the lower branches for a while singing, eyeing me curiously and then flits away. The remnants of overnight frost cling to grass and rooftops as yet untouched by the sun. It’s chilly. There is a cold occasional breeze biting at fingers and nose. The sun is deceptive, lulling you into a false sense of warmth that isn’t really there. Coffee is very welcome. The sky is a bright blue with dappled white cirrus clouds. Far off crow calls and a couple of blackbirds pull into the Oak for a wee forage. A blue tit grasps onto the tiniest branches at the furthest extension of the oak on the hunt for food. A sense of Sunday busyness this morning. It’s self care Sunday today so make sure you do something for yourself today. Reflecting on yesterday’s community circle and that post coming together glow, despite the greyness and the spattering rain there was fun, laughter and of course rhythm. Post circle conversations with people dealing with loss and grief and the opportunity and space given to let them acknowledge it, express it and allow tears to flow. Talking to carers with loved ones lost to dementia who bring them to expose them to music once more and an opportunity to express themselves again. People who come just to have a go and be part of a group. A cross section of society together for a brief time to relinquish the sense of isolation we sometimes feel and to be lost in time. A lovely morning. I love the sharing part at the end of a circle, it is perhaps beyond playing my favourite part. So today in this sharing here and also afterwards I am reflecting on people, their faces pass before me, as do their emotions, their sharing, stories, journeys of the past and the here and now. Lovely days people.
