Natural Morning Light... Lake Como.

An atmospheric campervan morning like no other this morning, over looking Lake Como. All night lightening storms and rumbles of thunder cleared the air a little and have continued this morning. To the northeast of me the lake and mountains are shrouded in heavy ominous dark blue clouds and pouring rain graduating to a lighter shade of grey as I turn east. Fresh breezes and hints of rain on the air as the cloud drifts its way towards me. Rumbles of thunder rent the air, flashes of lightening over the mountains on the far side of me. The clouds big, bold, grey and powerful. Swirls of weather this morning, begin to make its way up the lake with the inevitability of rain. The wind whipping the lake and white crested waves begin to appear, pushing ahead of the weather. The far side now enveloped in rain, I can see and feel the edge of the weather as it edges over the lake towards me and then here it is. What a morning to witness. As Oliver Heath wrote :

“ Immerse yourself in natural morning light for 30 minutes each day.”

A long drive yesterday to reach todays destination, some serious climbs and hairpin bends to reach what feels like just below cloud base, high, high above the east side of Lake Como. It feels like we are clinging to the side of the mountain about 600 metres up overlooking the lake. Even after a month, I still fail to realise how long it can take to cover any distance. The views are astounding, the water blue as blue can be far far below, the wake of yachts, motor boats and ferry boats, plying their trade, cut through the blue leaving a white wake trailing behind them. Mainsail fully deployed, Spinnaker in the breeze as they cut a track across the water. The view really is quite quite stunning. Neither words or images will do it justice. A couple more days R&R, breaking up the drive home. Today is about chilling, reflecting on encounters and some serious learnings around the self and dealing with new situations even still now. You never stop learning. Lovely days people.
