A bright early start campervan morning. we are north of Rapello, close to the main road to the coast. The adventure continues as we headed further east, trying to stick to B Roads and away from motorways heading through Italy. Trying to sample traditional Italy or ‘Real Italy’ as one of the people we bumped into told us, traditional culture, away from the tourist hotspots, people and the hurly burly. Some serious travel, twisty roads, tunnels and hair pin bends, steep inclines and roads dropping away, cars attached to your rear bumper, the true beautiful Italian driving experience, brought us to where we are. It’s strange how people fall into your lap, the lovely people at the vineyard who introduced us to Italian grape and wine.
“ If you are not travelling, you are living in a deep well and you are not only unfamiliar with the beauty of different cultures and nature, but also you don't know the feeling of affinity with strangers.”
Someone else crossed our path yesterday. Alessandro introduced us to Italian driving, bus and train timetables and the ‘Real’ Italian experience. And now off to walk about and drink in buildings, culture and people watch. Lovely days people.
“Face this world. Learn its ways, watch it, be careful of too hasty guesses at its meaning. In the end you will find clues to it all.”
