Heavy cloud and dark murky light this campervan morning. Stillness in the air, the hubbub of commuting on the ears, far off Monday rumbles in the distance and closer cars, heralding the start of people’s working day and the week. None forecast, but there is that sense of rain to come on the air. Crows and Cockerels making themselves known, a Magpie sits atop a chimney pot, a lone Gull calls its way across the sky, a small flock of Geese heading east, busy enough for a Monday morning. I came across some of the work of Colleen Song yesterday. One of the lines from her book ‘Inhale’ resonated with me :
“ You cannot breathe life into someone refusing to inhale."
The words have stuck with me for a good few days now running around my thoughts and my journaling. Illuminating people and situations from my past and my present. I love how I stumble on these works that send me into areas of introspection, exploration and understanding. How one sentence can cast light on the self, situations and people.
I think also for me a salutary sentence on allowing people to breathe life into me, remembering to inhale, instead of remaining to be stuck in cycles of outmoded thinking and methods of dealing with situations. For me not to become one of those people. To recognise those around me that just refuse to inhale and it’s not me. Lovely days people.
