Orange flecked clouds and residue frost greet me this campervan morning. It’s a cold one once more. Breath on air, steam rising from coffee cup and hat crushed down around my ears. Yesterdays biblical rain, hale, thunder and lightening replaced by calm, frost and cold. The sky a broad canvas of blue with orange crested clouds, moving westwards. A strong song from a single blackbird high in the oak, is answered in the distance. A to and fro of conversation mesmerises the ears as I listen to pick out the distant reply. A scattering of starlings in the ash hop around the branches. The sun breaches the horizon and the tree tops are bathed in strong sunlight and I witness the usual morning dash and dance of the smaller foragers. There is the Friday hum of traffic in the distance, but my ears are firmly tuned to the blackbird at the moment. My coffee is once more cooling way too quickly. A magpie arrives and proceeds to chase off a few birds, before settling in the ash. A busy morning once more, when you look and listen for, the subtext below the usual monotony of planes, trains and automobiles. A long weekend ahead and reflecting on some downtime. I journaled away my angry edge yesterday, but retain the determination to fight injustice. A loving thank you to all those on the same side. I love the ‘Hive’ mind that I can tap into at any moment. The ‘Hive’ mind of drummers and facilitators scattered from Asia to India, the Med to Northern Europe, the UK to Canada and the USA and all points between. The ‘Hive’ mind of counsellors scattered throughout the UK, of ex work colleagues, now around the world. The varying minds a mirror of myself in the here and now and in the past. A witness to my journey and a well of support, ideas and friendship. I also love being part of a hive mind. I came across the author John Green who said :
“ The ideas of directing outward, trying to imagine other people complexly, trying not to see myself as the centre of the universe - these concepts have become to me, and I hope they’re at work in me life on a minute by minute basis “
That sense that as much as you have that hive mind, you contribute, you turn yourself outward, you reach out, you direct outwards and for me you give as much if not more so than you receive. In the Prophet, Kahlil Gibran writes :
“ You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”
So enjoying being part of and calling on my many communities, but also the giving to the same. Lovely days people.
“ No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another”. Charles Dickens.
