Genuine Heart.

Another good frost underfoot this campervan morning, thick and white. I was surprised to see it, I don’t know why, I just was. Bright, bright blue sky above, not a cloud insight and it’s cold, not chilly, it’s cold. The first vestiges of sun burning the frost off the hedge, birds warming themselves in the highest most branches, thick steam off hot coffee, which is cooling way to quickly. A huge crow in the oak calling out, awaits a reply of some sort, blackbirds sing in the oak. Drove back late and now ensconced in suburbia, the oak and ash for company. A slightly later start to recover from the drive. A few starlings have appeared to brighten the soundscape. The landscape has narrowed considerably, from vista to not so vista. Though three weeks and I will be away again, for a lot longer. Still reflecting on the few days away, new people, new sharings, new community and new perspectives and landing myself slowly before returning to drumming once more. Nick Cave once said :

“ I not interested in anything that doesn’t have a genuine heart to it “

I think that kind of mantra has become mine and was reenforced over the last few days. I have been lucky to work with some amazing people, that have encouraged me to do great work with genuine heart and hopefully this has been passed on this weekend. I am however not interested in anything that doesn’t. It informs my friendships, my work, my hobbies and my community. Where it is not, I have sought to create it, where it is I have hopefully nurtured it. It’s all about me this morning, then again maybe it’s hopefully all about you. Genuine heart and lovely days people.
