Best Interests.

A post rain kind of campervan morning. A wee bit of rain still remains on the air, but most of it is dripping from the Oak. The temperature has dropped, but it’s still pretty mild compared to a few days ago. It’s damp and soggy underfoot, where you sit, in the air, everywhere. Dampness on the lungs and carried on the slight wind we have this morning. A sense of busyness around me even in the darkness, cars journeying near and far ,the twinkle of dwelling lights as the day starts, passing aeroplanes obscured by heavy thick cloud. Tuesdays tend to feel, with humanity, slightly more bustley ( If there is such a word ). The weekend has been shaken off and things are rolling. Nature made up of bird calls, the usual crows and a smattering of robin song. Rain comes on confirming the type of morning it appears it’s going to be. I came across a quote yesterday by W H Auden ;

“ Private faces in public places are wiser and nicer ; Than public faces in private places,”

There is a history behind the comment all of its own, but it’s been sitting with me on another level. I am kind of not sure what it is yet. Something along the lines of being genuine and authentic as against not being I suppose. I am still reflecting on it and working it out. What it does shout out is the lack of authenticity in many areas of society these days. As I say my thoughts are still formulating on this one. However it does strike me as an aim to be the same person regardless of who and where you are, or something along those lines. I have in time, and still do, as do we all, come across people who seem to contradict that saying or even embody it. A wee bit muddled this morning, but something to chew on. Lovely days people.
