Acts of Resistance.

Pink swirling cloud and strong winds this campervan morning. The sky consistently changing colour and shape as clouds race through. The Oak bending and shedding leaves, the Ash shimmering in the gusts. It’s a stormy morning of sorts. A pair of crows float into the Oak and sit briefly before being blown off. A few Starlings risk flight between gusts. The sound is that of bending bough and branch and leaves in the wind. The occasional blast from a plane as it powers overhead. Rain appearing in the air means a retreat to inside the van, also being buffeted in the breeze. It’s really interesting that as I sit here listening to the rain on the roof, I feel I have hit a bit of a wall with these morning musings and I have been reflecting on what that wall / resistance is about. There is a drive to keep going, because that’s how you learn, balanced with an opportunity to stop, turn around or push through it. So I have been kind of contemplating the resistance and stopping. A loss of creativity, a need to seek out some inspiration, an opportunity to take a rest and lean against the wall rather than push through it. I think also taking on some of the horrendous negativity that is in the world at this time may have not helped but, who knows ? I feel that’s it’s just an awareness that’s there and also that inertia at this time is to higher price to pay when we live in such difficult times. I think the gusty weather has also blown my thought processes around too. So, worked through that this campervan morning and onwards we go. Lovely days people. I have used this quote from the fabulous Susan Sontag before. It really helped this morning to solidify my thought process.

“ The likelihood that your acts of resistance cannot stop the injustice does not exempt you from acting in what you sincerely and reflectively hold to be the best interests of your community.” Susan Sontag.
