Walk.

Much much warmer this campervan morning, almost disappointingly so. The cold cleansing frost of yesterday has been replaced. Persistent rain and its accompanying sounds fill the air. Water running along gutters, dripping from eaves and trees onto leaf covered grass. The oaks protection much diminished, but she still manages to keep some of the rain away. A far off cockerel makes itself known. It’s still pretty dark and I’m not sure how or in what shape the morning is going to manifest. There appears to be a huge slab of greyness above me, the occasional breeze brings showers of droplets down just to exentuate the wetness. Beyond the sound of the rain is the ache of the far off motor way and the early morning commute. So it’s rain, tyre drone and the occasional cockerel for company this morning, The world only stretches as far as the darkness will allow, so the ears are working hard. It’s always inspiring to listen to nature come alive as she shifts from darkness to light. Birdsong starts, a few robins, a blackbird or two the cockerel still crows, far off gulls and the day has shifted up a notch. Emerson wrote that ;

“ In the morning a man walks with his whole body; in the evening, only with his legs.”

Self care Sunday turns into the beginning of the week, November begins to take its final bow and we will soon welcome December into the fold, the year marches on. Not a huge amount to report. I think I can just catch the sound of a Tawny Owl in the distance, which makes me very happy. As I say not a huge amount to say, just allowing Monday to settle and the week to commence in what ever way it deems fit. Lovely days people.

“ To town folk the winter always appears much longer than it does to dwellers in the country,” Edward Step.
